Absolutely love this school & everything about it.!
for all middle schoolers about to transition into high school: teachers are striiiiiict on grading. you can still turn in assignments late, of course, but now they're more specific on what they expect from you. substitute teachers will hammer it in your head that you need to stay on task, even if you are doing your task. once in strength while we were working out a sub told us to "do our workoutss" and we all replied back, "we are!" and he's like "no you're not. do your workoutss."
this school sucks the teachers suck and so do the principle they dont know what they are doing
elk river high school can't spell or grammar to save its life. they care more about kids capitalising their "i"s and saying "you" instead of "u" instead of putting apostrophe's in all word's ending with "s," capitalising Unnecessary Words, or putting random commas, in the middle of sentences. and no, this isn't a minnesota thing, either: i've seen so many schools that present themselves as more refined than ERHS. take anoka-hennepin, for example.

also, teachers can get easily offended. if i said something about their grammar to the front office, they'd probably just dismiss. trust me, i know. i've tried. and the teacher replied, "well YOU need to have better grammar first." just cause i don't capitalise words? that i say "u" instead of "you"? that doesn't mean i always talk like that....

also, yearbooks aren't like they were in your parents' generation anymore.
and now the teachers and administration.
students are mainly like most other kids in high school except for a select group of 9th grade boys that for the most part are different than you'd usually expect freshmen to be. they have boys nights and ragers almost every single night and they claim to do everything "for the boys." and there're a number of inside jokes surrounding them and if you don't understand them then you're just a normie, apparently. the upperclassmen and women (and everyone else) just act like role models and are generally nice to people.

in short, teachers/staff are frustrating and are offended easily, students don't really care, and school is hard.
